history
The roots of Ito Jewelry date back to 1939, when Yasugoro Irikura, the grandfather of the third-generation president and CEO Soichi Ito, founded his company in Asakusa, Tokyo. Irikura operated as an artisan making hand-made accessories such as obi sash clips and ornamental hairpins. After World War II, he moved his workshop to Warabi City, Saitama Prefecture and was quick to introduce the casting method.* At that time, Japan’s jewelry industry was in its infancy, with wholesale businesses starting up in the neighborhoods of Misujicho and Torigoe in Taito City, Tokyo and jewelry production gaining momentum in Warabi City, Saitama Prefecture. In 1974, second-generation president Kazuo Ito founded the current Ito Jewelry based in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture. The company has continued to grow while providing wholesale services to retailers.
* In Japan, the jewelry casting method started after the mid-Showa era. This method involves a silver or resin prototype being made by hand. This prototype is then placed between silicone rubber before being pressurized and heated. The hardened silicone rubber is cut open, the prototype is taken out and wax is poured in. The solidified product from this process is called a “wax pattern,” while the accumulated product is called a “wax tree”. The wax tree is fixed to a metal tube, hardened with plaster, and fired in an electric furnace. Shapes are formed by pouring molten metal into the cavity of the wax, which has been melted by the high temperature.
about
We have been importing diamonds directly from India for over 40 years.
Through trust and a solid track record, we achieve high quality and reasonable prices.
The first reason why diamonds are chosen as lifelong pieces of jewelry to be handed down from generation to generation is their value as a natural mineral. While diamonds with a graded certificate tend to attract higher valuations, we carefully examine every natural diamond we handle from the purchasing stage, regardless of its size and grading status. Our high quality and reasonable prices are achieved through our many years of experience, the expert judgement of our president and CEO, who is certified as a GIA G.G. (Gemological Institute of America Graduate Gemologist) by the world’s leading diamond grading body, and our over 40 years of direct dealings with Indian polishing companies. The outstanding skills of our gem specialists and artisans ensure the unchanging beauty and brilliance of our products.

To bring out the unique charm of natural diamond jewelry by continuing to pursue new artisanship while refining our techniques. This is our mission.
Our jewelry is manufactured in Japan and carefully made through the artisanship of a select number of skilled artisans. Our strength lies in our emphasis on the beauty and luxury of the quality jewelry we craft, as well as in our ability to provide stable manufacturing technology through our integrated in-house process, which covers purchasing, product planning, design, processing, polishing, assembly, and sales. We also offer processing of gold and other metals, including platinum, and parts processing, which is difficult for mass production systems. Feel free to contact us regarding any of these services. We invite you to enjoy one-of-a-kind pieces of diamond jewelry born from original designs created by our in-house designers and brought to life through CAD prototypes with cutting-edge technology and hand-crafting by our artisans.
